At A & J FREIGHT TRUCKING LLC, transparency isn't just a courtesy—it's the bedrock of our service. How do we ensure your cargo reaches its destination safely while protecting both parties' interests?

Updated for the current fiscal year (2025).

01. Parameters of Carriage

Goods accepted for transport by A & J FREIGHT TRUCKING LLC are subject to the specific stipulations of the Bill of Lading. We don't just move boxes; we manage assets. The customer warrants that all cargo is properly packaged, marked, and labeled to survive the rigors of the supply chain.

Are you aware of your responsibility regarding hazardous materials? Any specialized handling requirements must be disclosed at the time of the quote to ensure equipment compatibility. Failure to disclose may result in cargo rejection at the dock, with full deadhead fees applied.

02. Freight Liability & Limits

Standard liability for loss or damage is capped at $0.50 per pound for used machinery or general freight, unless a higher declared value is requested and approved in writing prior to pickup. Our team believes in absolute clarity—we're not an insurance agency, we're a transportation provider.

"The burden of proof regarding cargo condition at the time of delivery remains with the receiving party. Claims must be noted clearly on the Proof of Delivery (POD) document at the time of signature."

03. Loading & Detention Times

Two hours of free time are allotted for both loading and unloading operations. Modern logistics requires precision; when our drivers sit idle, the entire network feels the friction. After the initial two hours, detention rates of $75 per hour apply, billed in 15-minute increments.

What happens if the shipper isn't ready? If the truck is released without cargo after arrival, a minimum cancellation fee equal to 75% of the linehaul will be assessed. We value our drivers' time, and you'll find our schedules reflect that commitment.

04. Payment Terms & Liens

Invoices are due Net 15 from the date of the invoice unless otherwise negotiated. Late payments accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month. A & J FREIGHT TRUCKING LLC retains a general lien on any and all cargo in our possession for any sums due, whether for current or previous shipments.

Payment disputes do not authorize the withholding of funds for unrelated shipments. Keep it clean, keep it professional.

What our partners say.

"Why did we choose A & J FREIGHT TRUCKING LLC? Because they treat every legal detail exactly like they treat our freight: with extreme precision. Their detention policies are clear, which actually helped us optimize our own warehouse loading times. Our logistics flow has never been smoother."

Solid terms and even better execution. We've worked with them for 3 years without a single paperwork hiccup. Highly recommended for long-haul.

They don't hide the fine print. We knew exactly what the liability limits were before we even loaded the first pallet. Transparent as it gets.
